Selling (sold) my sled on Craigslist

It was time to get rid of my sled. I didn't ride much last winter, and want to free up some space in my garage so maybe I can actually park in my garage bay.

So, I put it on Craigslist. I have bought and sold a fair amount of things on CL. Sometimes, selling is a real PITA. Mainly, because sometimes people don't show up. But, since I work from home anyways, it's just an annoyance. One thing I do hate is the billion questions some people do. It's like "Hey, I'm selling a widget for $10.. you either want a widget, or you don't. Don't ask 20 questions about the widget since it's $10 and the time it takes for me to answer you is worth more than $10." If the item was "big ticket", I'd understand. I also hate the "Is XYZ still available?" emails. You email right back "Yes, it is" and never hear anything again. Well, 30 seconds ago you wanted to know if it was still available.. what happened? Are you taking a poll?

But, in all.. it works out well. So, to the sled. I posted a "make offer" ad for it, and gave the NADA book value for it (low end was $1,500). I got about 10 offers for $300. Uhh.. no thanks. But, aside from offers for trading a power washer and push mower, to a stereo system.. some people are just sort of dumb. Let's take Rick for example:

I have a nice 4 wheeler. It's A 1985 Honda TRX 125,Elec start, reverse new rear tires, was stored for 12 years so it has real low hours.Let me know if possibly intrested. Thanks Rick

To which I replied:

Hi Rick,

Sorry, I can't trade for anything with wheels.

Pretty specific, right? Well, maybe not. Rick then writes back:

How about a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire?

To his credit, maybe the Sunfire was on blocks and didn't have wheels. But, being me, I had to respond:

I think a Sunfire has wheels.

Rick didn't like that:

wow does it really,shuv it

Yes, Rick.. really, cars have wheels.

Fun stuff. But, after about 20 offers, inquiries, being "polled" if it's still available, and a few serious people, it's finally gone tonight. And, I still have some things listed on CL which I'll keep answering questions about until someone comes and gets the item, or I just throw it away.
