Was just watching 20/20 and they had some "regular guy" on there named Mike Byster, who the called "The Human Calculator." They went on to say how he developed this math system to make it easy to teach to kids. At a young age he was "able to find patterns in things", blah blah blah. They went on to show "his system". Um.. his system is called Vedic Mathematics, and it's been used for hundreds of years in India.
So, way to go Mike, you developed a system which has been used for centuries (and, since he's a math teacher, I can't imagine he didn't learn about Vedic Math at some point. And, way to go ABC for not doing some basic research. I'm sure if you asked any college math professor about the system (at least to check it's validity to hold up), they would have said "Um, that's Vedic Mathematics.. nothing new and revolutionary." Well, maybe the did but still did the story figuring Americans are too stupid to know.
