Tim Hardaway, plays with balls but not gays

FOX Sports - NBA - Tim Hardaway: I wouldn't play with a gay man

"You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known," Hardaway said Wednesday, according to a transcript on the Miami Herald Web site. "I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States."

Later, probably after his PR person yelled at him...

"Yes, I regret it. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said I hate gay people or anything like that," he said. "That was my mistake."

I don't watch basketball, but the times I have I have seen these grown, sweaty men in shorts patting eachother on the ass. I'm not saying that's gay, but.. it's sort of gay. I've never been at work at said "Hey, awesome job coding!" then patted the guy on the ass.

But, maybe he's right. There's no room for gays in sports at all. It's all man stuff. Manly man stuff for manly men, who don't look at men in manly ways.

Ok, maybe sometimes things happen in baseball...

But, he's only touching another mans ass in celebration, and because his shoulder is simply way too high up to pat.

In football, at least they use heavy protection to ward off anything gay...

But, basketball? Never could anything gay, homoerotic or unmanly happen...

I guess it's good Hardaway is retired, since all this gayness in sports would have scared him.
