Europe Stops All Payments to Hamas-Led Palestinians - New York Times

The almost funny thing about this is how the Hamas keeps saying the Palestinian people are being punished for a democratic choice. They forget that the democratic choice was to elect an organization labeled as a terrorist organization by most of the Western world. That's not really something that needs to be rewarded, but they didn't think of the ramifications of voting how they did. Did they think "Hey! We'll elect a political movement which all the people who give us aid think is a terrorist organization into power! That'll solve all our problems!!"?

Of course, aid isn't completely gone. It's just going to go through non-governmental avenues. That's because Western countries DO care about the people, in spite of the government. That fact probably isn't being talked about by the clerics, though.
