Tin and Lint

I just learned that a local pub, Tin and Lint, is where Don Mclean wrote 'American Pie'. That's pretty cool.

I need to go there one day. Suzy went on Saturday night. She said she didn't see a plaque or anything, but it was also busy. I may go in one day and ask where he was sitting.

So, things about Saratoga Springs which are interesting that I know:

* the oldest major thoroughbred horse race in the United States, the Travers Stakes, is held here.
* Potato Chips were invented here
* Don Mclean wrote American Pie here
* A bunch of revolutionary war stuff happened here, and the Battle of Saratoga was some sort of 'turning point'.
* U.S. Grant wrote his memoirs here (up the road from me).

Hmmm.. I think that's all I know, or remember right now.
