For some reason, I'm getting all my new credit cards right now. None of them actually expire until much later in the year, but for some reason they are coming to me now. You can't just simply call the number, maybe answer a security question or two and hear a "Your card is activated.. have a nice day *click*". Every time, they try to sell you things to add to your card. More cards? Added protection plan? Move a balance? Upgrade your card? Change your PIN? Change your billing dates? Get a cash advance? No.. all I wanted to do is activate my card. Everyone has to try to upsell you. Maybe the CC companies could make more money if they didn't add all that extra advertising in their bills. Like, what I really need, is those pamphlets telling me that for $2.99 I can get some piece of crap calculator and luggage set.
The one question none of these people have asked me is "Would you like us to lower your interest rate?"
