Freshness Date

I usually buy these large boxes filled with various types of snack-sized chips at BJs for Kyla to take with lunch. Sometimes, it can take a while to work through these, as there may be 30 or 40. Well, Cheetos has a 'freshness date' on it. Yesterday, I put a bag of Cheetos, which should be able to be edible for about 100 years, in her lunchbox. When she came home, she said she didn't eat it because it said "Guarantees Fresh until February 7, 2006", and it is February 8. So, obviously, the Cheetos must now be sour and tainted.

I asked her today if she'd eat some Cheetos if I put them in her lunch. After all, I have 9 bags left. She said she wouldn't, even after I explained that Cheetos aren't like "real" food that spoils. But, no dice.

Damn you Cheetos packaging!

Hey Kevin....gotta say I get a kick reading your "RAMBLES".....it has become a ritual....but anyway, I love the expiration date dilemma. My son would do the same thing to me...in CT, the milk will sometimes say sell by 2/10/06 but in New york sell by 2/8/06 and my son will not drink it on the 9th....I can't convince him that its a sell date not use date.
