Got the mortgage approval package today from the bank. I hate these things. There is so much paperwork to sign, initial and stamp in blood. Of course, I had to call them to ask questions. My main questions revolved around the Final Monthly Payment line, which was within my comfort range. Not only that, it was within my comfort range and the approval is for more money than I expect to borrow, and with a 6% rate (estimated, since we can't lock in right now).

I should really go down to the lot and snap some photos, so I can journal the building process. Let's see.. the next thing we do is go to the kitchen showroom and choose cabinets and counters, then to another one for flooring, house color, landscape package, etc... Then, the blueprint meeting to make any changes, then electrical where I add in fun things like Cat5 and surround pre-wiring. At some point they start building, and I get to drive by every day watching the progress!
