Great Weekend

Here's another weekend recap.

Saturday: Started with me making French (Freedom?) Toast for breakfast. Then, mucho gardening. We rearranged the shrubs in the front flower beds. Took out some junipers and moved them to the sides of the house, moved some shrubs to where those were, put a boulder in between two flower shrubs we have (one died, so this one takes up the space, and looks good) and put some day lillies in. Looks great. I wanted to make a fire pit in the back, so I went down to the construction area to look for rocks. Got a bunch of them (randing from 4" to 8" in diameter) and brought them back. I then thought to myself "Hey, these may look good as a border around the flower beds on the sides of the yard!", and behold.. they did.

Kyla was going to have a sleepover at my dads, so I hopped in the shower and got dressed. We took her over there and Suzy and I headed downtown to have dinner. We had a $50 gift certificate from our real estate agent for some restaurants downtown, so we figured we'd (finally) use it. We went to a place called Wheat Fields on Broadway, and sat outside in the front patio area. It was really nice because the weather was cool, and watching the people walk by is fun. The food was really good, and it was great getting out. What's funny, is that we were really trying hard to order more than $50 of stuff. We didn't have any cash, so were hoping the bill would be $60 so we could put $10 on the CC with a tip. Soup, shrimp scampi, soda refills (some places there aren't free), cappuccino, desert.. and it came to $48 and change!! Ended up that I ordered a piece of pie to go, so I could have something to charge to give the lady a tip.

We came back home, watched 28 Days Later (sucked), and hit the sack (*wink wink nudge nudge*).

Sunday: I went down to the construction area again for more rocks. We decided to do the front flower bed the same way. I always liked rocks a borders since they are natural looking, low maintenance, and in my case... free. My dad brought Kyla back, and also my grandfather. Dad, Kyla and Suzy went to the garden center for a few things, and I hung out on the front porch talking to my grandfather. It's nice to do that once in a while. Then, they came back with pizza and more stuff to plant. We ate, and we planted, then they left. Suzy, Kyla, Jasmine, Tigger and myself all hung out in the back and played together. Was a lot of fun. I decided it would be a good night to camp outside in the back, so we took the chimnae (sp?) out of the garage and brought it to the back yard... since I ended up using all my "fire pit" rocks. I set the tent up, got the sleeping bag, some wood and started a fire. I really thought Kyla was going to camp out with me, but she then decided she didn't want to. Suzy couldn't since she had to go to work in the morning. So, it was just me. After my fire burnt down to coals, I went in the tent, turned on the flashlight and read some more of Musashi until I was tired. Zipped up the sleeping bag and went to sleep.

Monday: Suzy was at work most of the day, and Kyla was very tired. She had a little temperature for some reason, so she just layed down and relaxed all day. I did some more work in the yard, and the garage for most of the day. I then made some chai, grabbed Musashi and sat out on the front porch for some reading. A nice lazy day (well, aside the yard and garage work I did). Now I'm writing this, and will probably just chill out the rest of the night.

Wow - what the hell is that mess? Spam?

Anyways - what a great weekend. I need either you or Suz to call the house again as your numbers were programmed in our old phone and we got a new one. Dummy me cannot find the written record, so please call so I can get you programmed in again and call! Make sure you tell Suz that, too!

Yeah.. SPAM. One of my occasional morning routines is going through and deleting new ones. Annoying as hell, and I would torture and kill any person I happened to find who did it. But, instead I track down IPs and email ISPs.

I'll email you the number.
