The Patch: 12.39 Days

As of right now, it's been 12.39 days of no smoking. I have my ups and downs still. The vivid dreams are every night, which is cool. I changed from putting a new patch on in the morning to the afternoon. I'm not sure how it works, just that it pumps nicotine into me throughout the 24 hours. I figure when I put it on in the morning it weakens by the night, and is the weakest by morning. So, by putting it on at 3pm, the morning and evening are still running strong. Since, morning and night are the hardest times. Maybe flawed logic, but doesn't hurt.

I think that quitting is a fragile thing. It could probably just take one cig to become a full fledged smoker.. or being an occasional/social smoker will be doable. At any rate, it's been almost 2 weeks. I only have a few patches left and probably won't buy another box of them unless I really feel like I need to.

Congratulations! I stoped smoking pretty much at the same time as you (those new year resolutions). I use the patch as well.

I feel you on the weakening in the evening. My advice to you: Go with the whole program. If only because you will have spent so much money you won't want to get back into smoking again. It's proven to be a factor.

Good luck, and remember that whether or not you smoke, the craving will go away.

Good for you too Haim! I also think I quit at a good time. When the weather is -20, you feel less of a craving to get dressed to go have a smoke. Although, I would (and have) :-)

I may try to not get another box of patches. The good thing is, I have no smokes around and have pretty much no (non-habitual) cravings. Even if I did, I have nothing to smoke. But, if I find that I'm more irritable, I would go get some.

I hope you make it! Keep me updated.
