I watch The O'Reilly Factor every night. I agree with Bill on just about everything. Some things I don't, but I share the majority of his opinions. I agree with a point he made tonight:
What does it say when Newsweek magazine can find Al Qaeda big-shots for sit-down interviews - and our CIA can't find them? Why won't President Bush fire CIA Director George Tenet?
Basically, a Newsweek reporter found a guy who runs messages between UBL and Mullah Omar. But, the CIA can't seem to fine UBL or Omar. How is it that a reporter can find someone like this, but the CIA can't? If they could, they would probably know where UBL is. Where is the outrage at the CIA, and Tenet, for not being able to find these guys? Are we too wrapped up with thinking about Iraq right now? And, why hasn't Bush gotten rid of Tenet?
: R. Kelly is wanted on kiddie-porn charges in two states, but that didn't stop the R&B singer-producer from attending the Billboard Music Awards Tuesday. Incredibly, he won six Billboard awards in the R&B/Hip-hop category, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. What a wonderful message to send to America's children.
Totally agree. Why R. Kelly is walking the streets is beyond me. And, why he is being honored... well, I just don't get it. The Billboard awards are chosen from the public. So, does this mean that the public doesn't care when a 'role model' or 'artist' has sex with a minor (on tape, for that matter)? Where is the morality of the public these days? What kind of message do you send when actions like this are ignored and you then give this person awards?
Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch releases a new Christmas CD, "Orrin Hatch's Christmas Eve."
Er.. that will go next to the Nimoy singing about Bilbo Baggins single.
Also, the news that Bush isn't allowing countries which are not part of the coalition to bid on reconstruction projects (over 18 billion worth of projects). I also agree with Bill on this one. I believe Russia and France should be left out. They have made it clear they will give no help in Iraq, and should not be allowed to profit off of the rebuilding of the country. However, I think that Canada and Germany should be able to. Germany is helping in Afghanistan and I believe Canada is as well. But, although I agree with keeping the two countries out, I think Bush went about this in the wrong way. Instead of publicly embarrassing these countries, their bids could have just been ignored. Most of the world hates us enough as it is (Bush has made us less popular than ever), and his foreign policy isn't helping.
It's too bad that Bush will probably win another term. The Dems will likely put Dean up as the candidate. Dean will likely lose to Bush. Lieberman would be a better candidate, and could probably give Bush a run for his money. Lieberman is more of a moderate Democrat. But, he will lose the primary because most of the moderate Democrats are now more republican, and many of the Democrats are more leftist.
Anyways, I'm not a Bush fan. I don't care much about what party wins, I care about the actions of the President. I thought Bush was a bad choice 3 years ago, and still think he is the bad choice. Hopefully, the majority will feel the same next November (of course, the majority felt the same in '00 but it didn't matter).
Blah. Bedtime.
