3 Year HS Diploma

CNN.com - Law lets students forgo senior year - Sep. 8, 2003

Good old Palm Beach, FL. The reasoning for fast tracking some kids is to help with the overcrowding of the schools. As far as I knew, kids could still always take exams to quicken their HS life. I'm not sure if I like this idea or not, as it would just release a lot more immature kids into the world sooner. I graduated HS at 17. If I only had 3 years, I would have graduated at 16. Do you think my parents would have sent me, at 16, to college?!?! Hell no! College is a different world, and a barrage of more minors heading off to them won't help... and most would probably be local colleges or PBCC. Senior year is also kind of fun, and if I were given the option I would have stayed in HS instead of having to go out and find a job and go off to college so early. You could later regret not having that extra time with friends. But, that's me.

Personally, I think that releasing some gators into the school would be more effective in lessoning the number of seniors. Good thing I'm not on the Palm Beach School Board!
