HK Store Goes Nazi

CNN.com - HK store's Nazi theme sparks fury - Aug. 10, 2003

This chain clothing store thought, in their limited wisdom, that Nazi symbols would be a perfect theme for clothing and decorations. Of course, this pissed off a lot of people for obvious reasons. Deborah Cheng, the companies marketing idiot.. I mean manager... said:

Cheng added that the designer wanted the clothes to have a military theme and did not realize that the Nazi symbols would be considered offensive.

Is this dolt living under a rock? I guess clothing stores in HK don't do much marketing research. They are "considering" taking the things down, but need to find a new theme first. Here are some suggestions for new imagry for themes:

* Burning crosses behind lynched blacks
* A large mushroom cloud over Japan
* Tibetan monks being killed by Chinese soldiers
* A slogan "North Korea Needs 'The Bomb'!"
* Images of praying Muslims falling into hell
* Sacraficing of a baby to the Tree Gods

If Nazi imagry wouldn't be found offensive, these suggestions would certainly be marketing gold!

The symbol that you are talking about is an old symbol. The knights cross. There is no swastica in the midle and is therefore not a nazi symbol.
But as usual, somebody has to whine about it. A lot of people drive Volkswagen but that's o.k?
Read up on the history dumb ass!
