JM Lexus woes

I'm so unhappy with JM Lexus. From the process of buying my car from them, to not being given a loaner for a 3 hour job (they are supposed to give a loaner for anything over 1.5 hours), to the crappy job they do cleaning the interior of my car. Now, I have another issue to stack on.

I've been looking for a TRD (Toyota Racing Dev.) free flow air filter. So, I call the local Toyota place, but they didn't have it. I called JM, since they should have it, or be able to give me the part number so I can order it. I called, I sat on hold for 10 minutes... then the girl comes on the phone and says they have it, for $93. Basically, I don't feel like being wallet-raped, when I know it should only cost $60-$75, so I asked for the part number. She wouldn't give it to me. I was like "What??" and she said her boss said not to give me the part number. I mean really, I buy a $32k car from them.. I expect to get a part number from them. I was livid. I called TRD directly for the part number, and got it.

Later that night I decided to go in to JM. If they have it in stock, as she said they did. I figured when they said it was $93 I would argue until I got it for a more reasonable price (everyone seems to get it around $70 on the message boards). Turns out the part number I gave them from TRD isn't what they have, and they don't have it. But, they would happily order it for me. I really don't want to buy from them now, unless it is a last resort. I will just order from the internet somewhere.

Am I wrong at being pissed? This isn't the first time they have treated me, as I see it, as second class. I pay you $32k.. I call for a part number.. you give it to me. Is that so wrong? I don't think it is wrong, or unreasonable. So, Monday morning I will be crafting an email to send to the JM Lexus management, JM Family management, and Lexus itself about my complete dissatisfaction with how I have been treated by them from day 1.

I complained about the bait-and-switch they tried pulling on me, Lexus called me about it, but no one ever did anything to try to satisfy me about how I was treated. Not a free tune-up, or even a free oil change. I think that is bad business, and I will rattle a few more cages until I get satisfaction.

If you are looking for a Lexus, I suggest not going to JM Lexus.

Thanks for the information. I am someone who values service & respect more than anything else

Great Job!

No problem Joe. I'm sure plenty of people have had good experiences with them, but I sure haven't. In the end, they gave me a free 15k service.. yet never apologized verbally for how I was treated. They basically did it to get me to shut up. They even tried getting me into a '03 IS300.. with $2600 cash down and $40+/month payments. Basically, they tried to swindle me again (maybe he did thing he was giving me a deal.. with $2600 out of pocket and $40+ more a month.. some deal).

Since my 15k service I luckily haven't had to go back in. And, with the amount I drive, I will likely have a new car before my 30k service.

I am curious about how this was resolved. I am currently having a battle with Hendrick Lexus of Charlotte, NC. So far, they have a "go away pesky woman" attitude to me. Just called Lexus corporate today to complain. Would love to have additional insight to further prepare a battle plan!! thanks

No real resolution. They called me in, tried getting me into a new car (for only $80 more a month and 2.5k out of pocket!! What a deal!), and gave me my next service for free. So, I guess I got a free servicing out of it. I should have complained more to corporate, but didn't. I was (and did) move out of state so didn't bother.

Push it with corporate. Also, those surveys they send you after services (I assume you get those as well) do matter! Corporate sees those, it affects the store which you complain about. That I did find out when they told me my survey was noticed.. and corporate called me about it.

Because of this experience, I likely will not get another Lexus.

When you have a $32,000 car, you are entitled to bitch when you aren't being treated right. Luxury cars (as you obviously wouldn't know) aren't cheap to buy or maintain, and you don't get them from people in trailers. So, when I am forking over 30k to the company, they can tell me a part number (not like it is secret information). I wouldn't expect McDonalds to tell me their secret sauce ingredients for a $.99 burger.

If you think complaining about bad service is wrong, then you are a moron. People deserve to be treated well. And, for the most part, companies can't make up for bad treatment aside from "giving" you something.

Kirk and JANICE, you two may want to get together. If you actually read my site, you would see I don't complain to companies much looking for free stuff... and I am a vegetarian. So, they only think I'd like from a Wendy is a blowjob.

That last sentence made my night.

Kevin, you must be a real miserable bastard. If the employees at JM were'nt afraid of losing their crappy jobs I'm sure they would tell you to go fuck yourself. You sound like such a whiny little prick. I dont understand the mentality that buying a $32,000 car somehow grants you membership into the "now I can be a complete fuckwad" club. Really man, Jm can sell any part at any price. If you dont think this price is fair then take your weed eating nancy ass somewhere that sells this thing for what you think is fair. You would think someone who writes perl could navigate the fucking internet to find someone selling it at what you consider "fair". I am so sick of you little douchebags and your "I am not being treated fairly" attitude. Grow some fucking balls man. I suspect that this parts person you refer to wouldnt give you the part number because you were being an asshole or JM knows you as an asshole already. I cant believe you fucking people. You go into a dealership and demand they change the way they do business because your feelings got hurt, then when they dont, you expect shit for free. People like you who complain about the cleaning of your car they dont charge you for or the free loaner car you would get if you werent a prick need to go buy a fucking Kia and see what the level of service is outside of Lexus Land. You really should take your racerboy wannabe IS300 with the bent rims and jammed cd changer and trade it in on something other than a Lexus. JM doesnt want you as a customer nor does any other Lexus dealer. Do the world a favor and dont reproduce. If you were a faggot like I am, I'd be happy so I'd you couldn't.

Hey there shitbag. I'm sorry you're a gease monkey and can't afford to drive the cars you fix. That's no reason to be hostile. The guy at JM was being a dick for not giving me a part number. I didn't say they had to sell the part for what everyone else in the world sells it for, and I didn't buy the part from them (I used the internet to find where I could get it cheap, and did). But, not giving a part number to me when I am a customer (I would get my regular service there, oil changes, and the other things which I could get elsewhere, for less, I still gave them my business for) is just being a dick.. much like yourself.

One of the things JM offers for "free" is a wash. So yes, when you take it in for a wash and you get your car back with a big fucking greasy boot print on your mat.. nothing wrong with complaining. When you wait 45 minutes and your car comes back without even being vacuumed.. you complain. Not sure where you think complaining about that stuff is out of line. Plus, I would give $5 to the guy who took my car, and $5 to the guy who brought it back. Not like I treated these uneducated pieces of shit like.. well, uneducated pieces of shit. If your job is to wash a fucking car.. wash the fucking car. If you can't do that right, your only other choice is to be a ditch digger since that's probably the only thing which takes less brains.

But, anyways.. you are obviously an oaf. Go wash the grease from under your fingernails monkey-boy, put on your blue overalls, fix our luxury cars like a good boy and be grateful that we give you a livelyhood you ingreatful piece of shit. You sound bitter. Maybe you should take a lot of sleeping pills and some whiskey to ease your pain.

My experiences with JM Lexus have been nothing less than exceptional. The staff is always courteous and willing to go the extra mile. It is unfortunate when a customer thinks he is the most important person in the world and has the right to treat people horribly. People like Kevin should not wonder why they are not treated with respect.

Hi "Loyal",

You have no clue how I treated people. I was always nice, even when things went wrong. The manager treated me like scum when he was lying to me about the price of the car (and I know he was lying since I knew someone who worked there and knew he was pulling a fast one). I was nice when I complained about the large greasy boot prints their cleaning people left on my floor mats, I was nice when I pointed out that they didn't actually clean my car on 3 occassions (when I took it there to be cleaned), I was nice when I had to drive back there because they didn't reconnect my inside break light after they tinted my windows, I was nice when they painted a single caliper and splattered paint on the other 3 when they painted my drums, I was nice when they didn't give me a loaner saying something would take an hour then took 5... shall I go on? I was ALWAYS nice... it was them who kept screwing up.

It's people like you are are complete morons who talk about things they really have no clue about.

Thankfully, I now live in NY and the Lexus place is full of nice folks. When I had to take my car in, they were great.

But, the Lexus is going bye-bye and I'm getting an Audi this month.

I hope that idiot (fag-boy tech) wasn't serious. I hope he was just bored and isn't that bitter at all L-owners and those with dignity. We are paying customers. We have every right to complain. No matter what the price.

I just got a loaner the other day with milk and cookies all over the back seat. Was it because I was dressed casually and looked younger than I am, and was taken less seriously? I don't know. If I was in a $2400 suit, would they have made sure it was clean? If I had to pick up clients that day I would have been furious! Yes, I think it's great that I'm driving a 2004 car for free instead of renting some entry level American piece of crap for the day. It also saves the hassle of more travel, paperwork and retarded front desk clerks to deal with.

Being number 1 at J.D.Powers should come with a price. Is it fair to Lexus' reputation when we encounter some employees having a bad day? Maybe. Maybe not. There should always be, however, someone higher on the totum pole keeping those particular a-holes in check. So yes, they are accountable 100% of the time. If no one ever complains, the service gets lax and continues to get worse and some middle-mangt service supervisor will just look at porn all day and have no standards for his crew.

As for Fag-boy tech? We pay his salary. Whether he pays for all the monkey grease for his party hole, or he steals it from work, I don't know. He probably complains about a $1 hamburger not being cooked all the way because it reminds him of some nasty bung hole he had eaten the night before. So I think I should be able to say my brakes aren't working properly when I pay $555/month and just pd $800 for the service. You bet your ass (no pun intended) that I complain when disappointed. No matter where I am shopping or eating. But I give them a chance to make it right before I get pissed.

Let's remember, people, that this is a business. They are there to take our money. Does $100/hour ring a bell? Service at a dealership is like buying popcorn at the movies. It's their bread and butter. Some fat cat's wallet is getting bigger sticking it up our asses, while fag-boy tech is dreaming of doing just that.
