Real Estate Update

Yesterday, two things happened. A lady from Buy Owner came over, and the prpject manager (Tom, nice guy) from the house we want called. The BO (Buy Owner) lady came over, gave her pitch, and the "uncomfortable silence" came as she waited for us to sign something, and I waited for her to leave. Long story short, they seem like a good value, and we will use them. But, I wasn't going to sign yesterday because I don't need to be out ~$1500 if something falls through and we don't even move.

Tom spoke to Suzy, but said he mailed the info we wanted and that he is going to pay Century 21 the commision (read here for more background). So, now I can put the realtor we worked with to work! Suzy is kind of pissed the guy didn't call us yesterday after he spoke with Tom. I don't care, as long as the guy works for us... and work he will! I want pictures, dimensions, comparisons and validation of any prices I get for upgrades. Of course, if he doesn't want to, he doesn't have to. And, of course, that would go against the contract and he would be breaking it.

One thing Suzy is worried about is that now that they have to pay commission, they won't lower the price in any negotiations. I figure since the house is listed in MLS, they expected to pay a commission to an agent so it is built into the price anyways. I have to ask for a lower price... what fun is buying a car or a house without the haggling? I'd also be pretty damn stupid to not ask for less money (or for them to throw in furnature or window treatments, etc...) when it is a buyers market out there.

Tomorrow my boss will be back from being out of town. I will ask him one more time if there is any problem with me moving out there. If he says there isn't, then I will be moving ahead. The info from Tom should also arrive, which should include the breakdown of the price of the house. I wouldn't make a bid until seeing that. I'll call Century 21 and put the agent back to work for me, and wait until I get some approval from the lender. After all, if I can't get the loan I need, I can't get the house! We'll be calling some movers for estimates and all that stuff as well. I'm also going to find out how I might ship my fish out there, since I like my fish. Phew.. so much to do!

I did a search in the search engines on a "professional real estate blog" and I found your professional blog. I am a Halifax Real Estate Agent in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and I was told blogs were specialized discussions on topics, thus my interest in searching for a real estate blog on the internet.
I just wanted to see how the rest of the world thinks and see what trends and technology are happening in the real estate profession. Your information was professional and it was interesting reading but it didnot relate to the real estate industry or home buying and selling
Respectfully yours
