Since we are still considering moving out to Utah, we go over various pros and cons. One con is the Mormons. I mean, I have nothing against them, but I do hear they aren't very welcoming to non-Mormons (at least once they learn they can't convert them). This makes me nervous about my daughter being teased in school, and my wife having a hard time making friends. I was there for 2 weeks, and didn't really notice (aside from people staring at the demon on my BSD hat in an odd way)
So, have you been to Utah? What were your experiences (if any) with Mormons? Please comment. Thanks.
Posted by Kevin at May 06, 2002 08:44 AMI live in Wyoming and we've visited Utah quite often. The mormons are pretty cliquey but there are also plenty of non-mormons in Utah. I don't think your daughter would be teased because she isn't Mormon.
Posted by: MySlowAcura on May 28, 2003 3:09 PMJust curious...did you and your family move to Utah. We are considering the same, but have fears as well. We are not mormon and my daughter is also bi-racial. We wonder if we should just stay in CA and not deal with Utah or if the move is better for us. We want to start a business and Utah gives us that opportunity, but at what price.
Your insight is helpful.
Thanks!
