You don't hear from someone for over 2 years, then they IM you with the "Hey, how's it going?" then soon lead into the real reason they IM.. to ask you a question about something ex-work related. Simply rude.
Of course, I'm a nice guy and try to help. Well, at least the first time is free ;-)
